Sheep Season Off to a Good Start

This year’s desert sheep season in the White Mountains is now officially over. The season closed Sunday September 25th. There were a total of four tag holders in the Whites this year. Three of the four hunters harvested rams. Dry Creek Outfitters had the pleasure of guiding two of those hunters.

Our new website went live Friday June 24th, 2011. Our first website began almost 8 years ago but technology has changed so much since then that it was outdated. The old website couldn't load on the new iPhones, iPads, or other such "high tech" devices. I can't keep up with it all but our webmaster can, Jeff Huntington with Set Apart Web Design.

Choosing the Proper Gun for Your Sheep Hunt

What gun is best for my sheep hunt? This is a subject that could cause some hunters to get into a seriously heated debate. If I was asked this question 40 years ago, I would have been one of those hunters siding strongly toward the pre 64 Model 70 in 30-06. Back in those days I felt anything else wasn't worth having. My Father bought me my first 06 at age 10 which was his caliber of choice. So there you have it.

Well, the 2010-2011 season is now behind us and Tim and I, along with our entire crew, would like to give everyone a big ”Thank You” for making this past season the success that it was. Not only did we continue to harvest the largest animals in the units but we again had the honor of guiding one of our clients to the largest ram in the State of California!
