Legendary sheep hunter,
Floyd Krank of Globe, Arizona, originally formed this
outfit in 1979, under the name of Aravaipa Outfitters.
Chris Harlow, Tyson Hatch, David May and Tim Mercier all
had the opportunity to work together for Floyd as his
professional team of guides.

At the end of the 1998 season, after many years of
enjoying a very successful career, Floyd and his wife
Mary chose to retire from the guiding and outfitting
business. So, with the start of the 1999 season and
with Floyds blessings, Tim Mercier and his wife
Ilona took over the ownership of the company.
Even though we are now known as Dry Creek Outfitters,
we are still the same team of guides, hunting the same
mountain ranges and using the same hunting methods that
have worked so well for us over the years. Our
guides are all professional, experienced hunters with
over 85 years of combined guiding and outfitting experience.
We think they are the best in their field. Please take
a look at "Meet
Our Guides."
Our first class tent camps use
wall tents for cook shacks and have private separate
sleeping tents that are roomy and very comfortable.
We take pride in our gourmet meals freshly prepared
with grilled meats, fresh vegetables, salads, pastas
and rice dishes. "Services"
All of our hunts in Arizona, California
and Utah are fair chase hunts conducted on Public Land.
Desert sheep and rocky mountain sheep permits are issued
by a lottery draw in Arizona and Utah. Desert sheep
permits in California are issued by a lottery draw as
well. The application deadlines for Arizona and California
are in early June and for Utah the deadline is in January.
Please contact us as early as possible for hunt application
information. You can also contact Arizona Game and Fish,
California Fish and Game or Utah Wildlife Administrative
Services for more information. Desert sheep hunts in
Texas are done by landowner permits. Please contact
us for more information. All four states have Governor's
tags for auction as well. They are generally sold at
the annual FNAWS
(Foundation for North American Wild Sheep) convention
or at various fundraiser dinners.
More times than not, our clients
have taken the largest rams in the state and consistently
take the largest rams in their unit. Your success is
our success! We pride ourselves in quality, not quantity,
and we think that our
past performance shows that hard work and experience
pays off. You can be assured that our entire team of
experienced guides will give 100% effort and dedication
to finding you the largest ram in the mountain range
for which you have been drawn.
Dry Creek Outfitters are members
of and support the following organizations: Foundation
for North American Wild Sheep (FNAWS), California
FNAWS (CAFNAWS) and The Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep
Society, Inc. (ADBSS), National Rifle Association (NRA),
Grand
Slam Club, Christian
Sportsmen's Fellowship (CSF), Boone
& Crockett Club (B&C),
Safari
Club International (SCI) and the North
American Hunting Club.
We sincerely hope you will consider
using Dry Creek Outfitters to assist you in making your
hunt truly the hunt of a lifetime.
